Lot 407 'Saliani' long rug, Talish-south Shirvan region, south east Caucasus, late 19th century, 9ft. x 3ft.9in. 2.75m. x 1.14m. Very slight wear in places, repaired kink. Rugs of this format and with this distinctive rosette border were probably made all over the Caucasus.
