Carpet by the Kashkuli taifeh of the Qashqa'i Confederation,

Fars Province, south west Persia,

early 20th century,

9ft.10in. x 6ft. 3m. x 1.83m. Overall wear, heavy in places, damage and losses right side, foundations rotted, colour run. The carpet has been in a flood. See Parham, Masterpieces of Fars Rugs, no. 44.
