I told Ed
Krayer A
Member of Our Trusted Dealers List that I was
working on Karapinar Rugs and he was gracious
enough to send me a number of rug images. please
note the arrow like intusion of the field into
the spandrels is a key identifier of a particular
subgroup of Karapinar Rugs. This is an
outstanding example. In the detail picture
below note how the pile height varies by color.
This is also a sign of a very old rug. The brown
is down to the collars, the red is low and the
tan is still thick. Ed and I suspect the tan is
undyed camel wool.

How to
navigate SpongoBongo and find anything.
The problem is that this site mirrors my thought process
and it is hard to find things. The secret is that it is
intended to be navigated from Google. But if you want another way try
my sitesearch.
Also try Oriental Rugs and Carpets Site Map.
