DESCRIPTION
Two Luristan Bronze Standards, circa 8th Century B.C.,
one with finial in the form of a triple-headed janiform divinity with
highly stylized body, and grasping confronted cock-headed monsters by
their necks, subsidiary cock's heads below, the other in the form of a
four-headed janiform deity holding confronted cock-headed monsters by
their necks, subsidiary cock's heads above and below, each standard
with concave cylindrical socket on a molded base and stem of circular
section with ribbed collars.
Heights 14 1/2 and 16 3/8 in. (36 and 41.6cm.)
