This appears to be a very old sumac
bedding bag front. This is from the Qazvin area and is
Rashvand or Mafi Kurd. See "Tribal Rugs" by
Jenny Housego plate 64.

Structure: Sumac weave
Yarn Spin: Z.
Warp: 2 ply tan wool.
Weft: 2 ply tan wool.
Ends: Conservatoraly mounted
Selvages: 1 cord overcastting old gold.
Handle: Light-medium, durable, pliable.
Further Notes: Very good condition, worn by time. The
piece has some historical repair and was professionally
conserved in the 1970s by an expert who worked at the
Textile Museum.
