Antique Bag Face

Size: 1 foot 6 inch by 1 foot 6 inch.

This is a very nice old bag face that looks like it is from Transcaucasia or Northwest Persia. I think it is Khamseh Shahsevan but I cannot dismiss a Kurdish attribution as well. I am open to suggestions.

Northwest Persia or Transcaucasia Bag Face

Size: 1 foot 6 inch by 1 foot 6 inch.

Structure: Sumac weave

Colors: Old ivory, dusty rose, yachting blue, moss green, old gold, royal blue, charcoal.

Yarn Spin: Z.

Warp: 3 ply tan, brown wool.

Weft: Ground color.

Pile: 2 wool singles.

Ends: Stabilized with 1 inch warp fringe.

Selvages: 2 cord interlaced charcoal wool.

Handle: Light, pliable, durable.

Further Notes: Very good condition, minor wear to surface and wear to ends and selvage.
