This Kazak prayer rug was woven in the Caucasus. It is dated 1904 (1322). It is in very good condition.

Fachralo Kazak Prayer Rug
This is a splendid Fachralo Kazak Prayer Rug. The yellow main border is unusual. The main field design is less common as well.
This is a classic Kazak back. The back is flat, with no warp depression. Note the bright red wefts.

Kazak Fachralo Double Niche Prayer Rug
A double niche prayer rug from the Kazak Fachralo or Bordjalou Kayseri area.
The T-meander main border design is rarely encountered and has a very archaic flavor.
Double Head and Shoulders Kazak Rug
Origin: Caucasus, circa 1900
3ft. 10in. by 6ft. 9in. (not including fringe)
Structure: Symmetrical pulled right. 7 knots per horizontal inch and 8 knots per vertical inch. 56 per square inch (868 per square decimeter).
Yarn Spin: Z.
Warp: 2 ply wool tan or brown and white barberpoled.
Weft: Some 2 shots, 2 ply wool. brown, tan and some red wool.
Pile: 2 Wool singles.
Ends: Warp fringe.
Selvages: Wrapped in red wool.
Further Notes: This rug is in excellent conditions. There are some old repairs and reweaves. This rug dates in the age range of about 1880 to 1913. This piece has undergone good to excellent restoration.
This is a wonderful example of an antique double head and shoulders Kazak rug. These Kazak rugs are from the Southwest part of the Caucasus from Tiflis to Erivan. The area is primarily Armenian. This rug certainly has a distinctly Armenian flavor to its design.
Inscribed Dated Armenian Kazak Rug

Structure: Symmetrical pulled right. 8 knots per horizontal inch and 7 knots per vertical inch. 56 per square inch (868 per square decimeter).
Yarn Spin: Z.
Warp: 3 ply ivory wool.
Weft: 2 shots 2 ply wool brown.
Pile: 2 Wool singles.
Ends: Top: 1 1/4 inch skirt. Bottom: 3/4 inch skirt with warp fringe.
Selvages: 2 cord red wool
Further Notes: The rug is in Near Mint condition. This is an outstanding Full Pile Kazak dated 1936. The rug is thick and full like real Kazak are when they are new. The design is a three medallion Kazak and the medallions are a Memling Gul design. The inclusion of a western date and the inscription “hABA” indicates an Armenian provenance.
This is an obvious designer piece. No repairs with near new condition. Full pile and no corroded colors. Ideal for floor use in a better home.

The Alberto Levi Sevan Kazak Rug
Origin: Southwest Caucasus, circa 1880
Size: 8ft. 1in. x 6ft. 2in. (247 x 187 cm.)
Structure: Symmetrically knotted wool pile on a wool foundation.
The large shield medallion dominating the field of this piece defines the rare Sevan type, named after the lake located in present-day Armenia. The wide dimensions of this rug allow for a more spacious yet incisive design. The outstanding condition of this piece allows us to fully appreciate its rich and varied use of color, as well as the wonderfully lustrous pile – both qualities being exemplary of the best nineteenth-century Caucasian weavings.

Van-Ham Kasak with White S-Border
Size: 175 x 97cm.
This S border is typical of Erivan, or at least that broad swath of Armenia south of the old Bordjalu Khanate.
The Uri Jacobi S Border Kazak Rug
Description: An unusual Kazak prayer rug, probably Lori Pambak, a village in the west central Caucasus, which is attributed a group of colouful rugs made with vegetble dyes and red wool weft. Probably mid 19th century.
