Prince of Jordan, crown prince 1965- 1999. Brother of the late King Hussein I and uncle of King Abdullah. Hassan was a close advisor and confidant to King Hussein I.

Born 03/20/1947, Amman Jordan of Prince Talal and Zeini sh-Sharaf bint Jamil, Talal became King later.

1965 - 1999 Crown Prince (Held the position until Abdullah was ready in his fathers eyes.)

1968: His Royal Highness Crown Prince El Hassan bin Talal and Princess Sarvath married in Karachi on the 28th of August 1968. Their Royal Highnesses live in one of the oldest houses in Amman and have four children; Their Royal Highnesses Princess Rahma, Princess Sumaya, Princess Badiya and Prince Rashid and five grandchildren, Zein El Sharaf, Tariq, Ali, Sukayna and Aysha. 1999 January: Abdullah was appointed crown prince, replacing Hassan.

"Summerfields Preparatory School, and then he went to Harrow in England. He received a B.A. (Hon.) in Oriental Studies in 1967 at Christ Church, Oxford and later received his M.A.
. On August 8, 1994, it was Crown Prince Hassan who accompanied Prime Minister Rabin in inaugurating the first border crossing between Jordan and Israel, north of Aqaba. It was the first visit by an Israeli Prime Minister to Jordan. Recently, Hassan has been involved in much shuttle diplomacy to the US, Israel, and the European Community in hopes to revive the dying peace process. He has made several visits representing King Hussein in an effort to deal with issues such as the recent Jerusalem bombings and the assassination attempt of Hamas official Khalid Mashaal."
