Woolley & Wallis, Salisbury Salerooms Ltd. Carpets & Rugs Sale on Thursday 14th February 2002

Picture and Information from Woolley & Wallis, Salisbury Salerooms Ltd.

JBOC - Notes The pattern is one I associate with the Afshar of Sirjand. See Oriental Carpet Design plate 559 and for the main border plate 561. However that same border is also seen in Luri work from the Kerman area.

As I look at the inner and outer guard borders of reciprocal triangles it makes me think of Bordjalu rugs. I note that Bordjalu was an Afshar area many years ago.
