This is a new attractive well made rug. I
realize that eBay is sometime seen as a dumping
ground for dead inventory or flawed rugs. My
policy is to pick first quality attractive rugs.
I also personally examine each rugs front and
back for flaws. This rug has no color run, no
holes or tears and no problems that I can find.

| This rug is from the Province of Kurdistan in
Iran. It was woven in one of villages in the area
of Sennah
or as some spell it Sanandaj. The rugs woven in
the city of Sennah
were single wefted or as it is called in the
literature Sennah
Baft . This rug is double wefted and made like a
Bijar. The design is a traditional Sennah
pattern. If it were in a different pattern then
many would call this a Gerus Bijar. |

The color is off on this
close-up. Use the others for color.
Condition: New, no dye run, no holes, no tears, and no
repairs. This rug lays flat.
Size: 4 foot by 4 foot 9 inch
Use: Ideal for floor use. The wool is densely packed
and stands erect because of the construction. This make
these rugs to be one of the nicest rugs to walk on.
Origin: Persian,
imported from the Sennah
area in Kurdistan Iran.
A note about the construction:
Bijar Weave

Both the Bijar
and Sennah
rugs use a symmetrical knot on a two level
foundation. There is little difference between Sennah
and Bijars
rugs. Bijars may have a slightly higher knot
count but some of these Sennah are of exceptional
quality.
By the way, in the rug books it often says
that Sennah rugs are single wefted. Years ago
they did make single wefted rugs in the city of
Sennah. However I have never seen a newer rug
from Sennah that is single wefted. I suspect that
they stopped making them at least 20 years ago
and possibly not since W.W.II.
