Das Vorkommen auf Gemälden des venezianischen
Malers Lorenzo Lotto (1480 – 1556), in
dessen Bildern dieser prägnante Typus mit
großen, goldgelben Kreuzen und Oktogonen auf
rotem Grund zweimal (1542 und 1547) vorkommt, hat
den „Lotto“-Teppichen ihren Namen
eingetragen. Ihre Herkunft aus Uschak, dem damals
bedeutendsten Knüpfzentrum in Westanatolien,
gilt als gesichert. Dieses künstlerisch
hochstehende, kleinformatige Exemplar mit einem
Feldmuster im „Kelim“-Stil und
kobaltblauer „Ragged-Palmette“-Bordüre
gehört zu den schönsten uns erhaltenen Stücken
vom kleinformatigen Typus, wie der Vergleich mit
den in größerer Anzahl in den Kirchen
Siebenbürgens erhaltenen Lotto-Teppichen zeigt.
Ein eng verwandtes Exemplar, heute in der
Margarethenkirche in Mediasch, ist bei Ionescu
publiziert. – Ringsum etwas reduziert,
Schwarzbraun stark korrodiert, einige
restaurierte Stellen.

The presence of paintings of the Venetian painter
Lorenzo Lotto (1480 - 1556), in which images of
this type of striking with large, golden crosses
and Oktogonen on a red ground twice (1542 and
1547) occurs, the "lottery"-carpets
their names. Their origin from Uschak, the then
most Knüpfzentrum in Western Anatolia, is
regarded as secure. This artistic high-value,
small specimen with a field pattern in the
"Kilim" style and kobaltblauer
"Ragged-Palmette" border is one of the
most beautiful pieces we received from
small-type, as a comparison with the larger
number in the churches of Transylvania received
lottery carpets. A closely related copy today at
the Margaret Church in Medias, Ionescu is
published. -- How about a little reduced, black
brown heavily corroded, some restored.
