Persian Kurdish Sumac Bag Face.

This is a mid to late 20th century handmade sumac panel from Quchan, Khorasan, Iran.  It is handmade and in very good condition.

Size: 1 foot 10 inch by 1 foot 11 inch.

Structure: Sumac weave.

Color: Burgundy, brick red, navy blue, onyx, ivory.

Yarn Spin: Z.

Warp: 3 ply white wool.

Weft: Ground color.

Ends: Not original, post-hitch wharf binding with 1 inch warp fringe.

Selvages: 2 cord interlaced burgundy wool.

Handle: Light, durable, pliable.
