This rug is being de-accessioned from the James M. "Uncle Jimmy" Keshishian A. S. A. Collection. "Uncle Jimmy" is one of the grand old men of the Rug World and a great collector in his own right. "Uncle Jimmy" has decided to trim his personal collection by dropping everything that is not Armenian. He will be keeping his famous and much published collection of Armenian inscribed rugs but since moving into s smaller home he has decided to refine the focus of his collecting. So this rug is not Armenian so he has asked me to handle the de-accession.

Keshishian is author of many articles some of which I reproduced on RugNotes and author of Inscribed Armenian Rugs of Yesteryear. Jim has been awarded The Joseph V. McMullan Award the highest award in the field of Oriental Carpets.

The Rug is rectangular it was just photographed at an angle.

Further Notes: Excellent condition, minor wear in keeping with careful use.
 
Excellent drawing and color. This is a wonderful old silk Persian city carpet and is very striking as either a floor or wall piece.
