4 foot 1 inch by 6 foot 8 inch.
Ian Bennett dubbed these
backside biting beauties "Bum Biters".
1. For hundreds of years the people of Khorasan
and Herat the historical East Persia have created
rugs that show similar iconography. Some call
then animal rugs or hunting rugs but Bennett
dubbed them Bum Biters.
I attribute this rug to the Chahar Aymaq. The
wool and the selvage looks distinctly Chahar Aymaq.
This rug is not tea-washed but it is done in that
style softer tones.

A Very Unusual Rug!
I have a very similar rug to
this one in my personal collection. I find these
rugs fascinating. You may own this for months and
suddenly spot a new animal. I owned mine for 6
month before I noticed a frog.
