3 foot 10 inch by 7 foot 1
inch.
These rugs keep getting better.
The quality of these rugs has drastically
increased in the last few years. When I go out to
find rugs I try to buy the best. Of the rugs I
see I spend hours grading and sorting them so
that the ones I pick are superior quality.
Factors that I look at include color, weave, and
wool.
I attribute this rug to the Chahar Aymaq. The
selvage looks distinctly Chahar Aymaq.
However the wool is not the usual wool for this
type of rug. It feels more like Ghazni wool. This
is a very good wool for rugs but it is just a
little different than usual. It is also unusual
see these Tea-washed. However that is very
popular now so it is a plus.
How We
Select Our Rugs
Please use the scan for color
and this one just for pattern. As is the case
with most Baluch Type rugs this one is hard to
photograph. Color is difficult over the internet,
please use the Direct Scan below for the best
representation of color in this rug

A Very Special Group of
Rugs!
I keep looking for these rugs
which I have been calling Superior New Baluchs and I am lucky
enough to find a few. When a bale of new Baluch type rugs comes in
from overseas I am fortunate to find 1 out of 10
of this quality and often it is anywhere from 1
in 30 to 1 in 50. Most of the rugs have some flaw
or bad color or are just plain ugly. What I am
looking for is attractive well made rugs that
will give years of good use. This is one of those
rugs.
