How We Select Our Rugs

Tufenkian Carpets Area Rug Sale.
Oriental Rugs:

We no longer sell rugs, I maintain this site because I love to study rugs.

We Check each rug, not just once, but several times!

The young fellow in the picture is my son Maxwell. He is giving this rug his final check. There is more to selling rugs for us than just throwing a rug on an auction and hoping that you like it. I am very careful about the rugs I offer and I end up easily looking at a dozen rugs for each one I bring home. It doesn't stop there. Once I get the rug home I go over it looking for problems and flaws . Max is a big help and we work together to check the rugs, measure them, do a structural analysis and a final check. I have been known to reject up to half of the rugs that get this far. If you win one of my auctions I never want you to discover a hole or dye run that I missed. When you read my auction write-up I want you to know that I have gone to a good bit of work and research to make sure that the rug is what I say it is.

Best Wishes,

J. Barry O'Connell Jr.
