This was the buzz at the Fall 03 sale
at Grogan & Co, in Dedham, Massachusetts. Selling
well above estimate this Asmalyk attracted attention. My
initial reaction that it seemed almost clumsey for a
Yomud Asmalyk. Turkmen expert James
C. Allen attributes this Asmalyk to the Eagle Group circa 1800.
Not all agree, one fellow who reads my site in great
detail writes:
"go change your listing about the grogan asymalyk
it is not eagle group based on its structure, the
only defining characteristic if it were, i would have
bought it instead of being the underbidder"
