Tabrizi Hook or Knife

A knife with a hooked end that Oriental rug weavers use to tie knots. This knife can increase knot tying speeds by about 25%.

My brother Jim used to make his own Tabrizi knives. He would start with a Solingen steel straight razor and then slowly and carefully grind down the front of the blade to make the hook. It is important not to heat up the blade so that the steel loses it's temper.

Thanks and best wishes,
