Born September 21 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Married to Susan Haley Woolsey with whom he has three sons. Woolsey was appointed Director of the CIA by President William Jefferson Clinton on January 21, 1993. Woolsey was confirmed by Senate, February 3, 1993 and sworn in two days later. As a leading Neo-Conservative Woolsey has grown more influential since leaving the CIA. He is close to the leaders of the movement including Bernard Lewis, Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle.
