DESCRIPTION
A Kazak rug, Southwest Caucasus
Circa 1900 approximately 8 ft. 9 in. by 5 ft. 11 in.

Warp: wool, Z2S, ivory, light grey
Weft: wool, Z2S red, 2 - 5 shoots
Pile: wool, symmetric knot
Density: 6 - 7 H, 8 - 9V c
Sides: 2 cords of two warps each, overcast extends into last row of pile.
Ends: Upper incomplete, warp fringe, lower - 1/2 in. killem (incomplete) warp fringe.
Colors: madder, eggshell, indigo, peacock, marigold, seal brown.
