Saruk rug, north west Persia about 1900,
4ft.7in. x 3ft.6in. 1.40m. x 1.07m. £50-100
Uneven wear, damage, some crude repairs. One of a distinctive group of rugs on which the yellow motif frequently resembles an heraldic lion and which seems almost of Spanish inspiration.
