The next rug is a nice Taba
(Tabatabaei). I
noticed on your Tabriz section you could use a 'Taba' as
the 'Tabatabaei' family was a contributor to the Persian
Rugs in Tabriz. I acquired this piece on ebay ( as
well as 100 others last year for my wife's little design
business) We are keeping this in our house. Here is the
photo:
I found this post from an old friend:
"The name Taba comes from these rugs
made in a work shop in Tabriz owned by a family named
Tabatabaee. As compared to the copies (Indian, etc.) the
Persian Taba rugs are VERY stiff due to a very heavy weft
cord used in the construction. Often you can see a line
on the back of the rug, every few rows, where it looks as
though a row of knots are missing. It should not easily
fold lenght wise. "
