DESCRIPTION
A Konya Prayer Rug,
Central Anatolia, circa 1875, original flatwoven end finishes with pile
embellishments, oxidized browns, approximately 3ft. 8in. by 3ft. 8in.
(1.12 by 1.12m.), In near original condition, this rug testifies to the

colors and careful execution of a well proportioned design typify
Central Anatolian village rugs such as the present lot. For related

variant" design, for two examples see McMullan, Joseph V., Islamic
Carpets, New York, 1965, pl. 97 and Eberhart
