Ian Bennett raises some questions about an example analogous to this example. He suggests an attribution of Moghan or further east may be in order. Bennett, Ian et al. Oriental Rugs Volume 1 Caucasian. plate 75 page 86.It is my understanding that Bennett was not allowed to move rugs out of the category that Doris Eder placed them in original German work. So when Bennett suggest the possibility of another group it is usually taken as a sign he disagreed with Eder. Keep in mind that while Bennett is one of the world's most knowledgeable rug experts Doris Eder actually examined these rugs and in many cases Bennett did not.
