• In reality al Qaeda is the militant faction of the Moslem Brotherhood.
• al Qaeda is the name for the Moslem Brotherhood faction that Osama Bin Laden ran after murdering Abdullah Azam.
• Strong links to the Moslem Brotherhood. The more I study the more I see al-Qaeda as an extension of the Moslem Brotherhood. I suspect that as we track al-Qaeda we will need to follow the path of the Moslem Brotherhood.
• al-Qaeda is the terrorist front Osama Bin Laden operates under.
• al-Qaeda Arabic for the "base" (supply base as in his supply and training base at Khost). The group functions as a clearing house for world terrorism.
• Strong links to the Abu Sayyaf Group
• Mohammed Atef, leader killed near Kabul.
