Ulrich Schurmann Links Caucasian Rugs, The Persian Carpet, Oriental Rugs

Studied law at the Universities of Munich, Berlin and Cologne. His love of Carpets became his profession; Antique rug dealer in Cologne, Germany.
Organized the first exhibition of Caucasian Rugs, 1961, in Hamburg and 1962 in Frankfurt.
Responsible for the first exhibition of the Joseph V. McMullan Collection in Europe, 1968, in Frankfurt.

This is the book that defines Caucasian Carpets and Rugs. If you are interested in Caucasian rugs you must have this book.

While not a tremendeously deep book Schurmann choose excellent examples and discussed them well. Many writers use more words but few know rugs as well.
