JBOC Notes: Serif Ozen was kind enough to point out this chuval and its similarity to Rippon-Boswell Pseudo-Chodor Chuval lot 63. For many years the Yomud were the dominant tribe in the Khiva area and a powerful military force that at times supported the Khiva Khanate and at other times supplanted it. As the dominant Turkmen tribe the Yomut were in a subordinat position over the Chodor. So while Yomud and Chodor are distinct tribes they lived in close proximity in the Khiva Khanate. So it is perfectly resonable that we should see woven pieces that share similarities with both groups.
