Eagle Group Turkmen
Group I: 3- and 4-ply pile yarn.
Asymmetrical knot open to the left. Wool weft
with at least one silk weft shoot, usually dyed
red. Dark red-brown field color. Primary gul is
similar to Moshkova's LIX,3. (Seven carpets
listed and illustrated.)
Group II: 2-ply pile yarn.
Asymmetrical knot open to the right. Wool weft
with at least one cotton (not silk) weft shoot.
Medium red-brown field color. Primary gul is
similar to Moshkova's LIX,6. (Eleven carpets
listed; ten illustrated.)
Group III: 3-ply pile yarn.
Asymmetrical knot open to the left. Wool weft;
may or may not have silk or cotton shoots. Dark
aubergine field color. Primary gul is similar to
Moshkova's LIX,6. (Three carpets listed and
illustrated.)
In addition, there are seven
possibly related main carpets listed that differ
from Groups I through III by at least one key
trait. None has silk weft shoots, and two are

Eastern Market is a popular
Washington DC flea-market. A popular place
for inexpensive new rugs but collectable piece
are found now and then. Best days Sat. and Sun. C
and 6th S. E. Washington DC. Rug dealers often
set up on the basketball courts across the street
from the back of the market.
The specialty butcher makes a
wonderful range of specialty sausages.
There is also a nice rug shop
across the street from the basketball courts and
a very nice used book shop across from the back
of the market building

The Post-Taliban governing body
of the Province of Nangahar.
The Eastern Shura in Jalalabad
has named Hajji Abdul Qadir as Governor, Yunis
Khalis's son as chief of staff, Zaman will be
military commander of Jalalabad, and former
Taliban Hazarat Ali chief of police.

Corresponded with Raymond Gram Swing,

the Northern Alliance.
Odilie English worked for Elsie Hillman
in at the Republican Future Fund, a Pittsburgh
Pa. political action committee founded by Elsie
to elect more Republican women to state office.
Ensi
Ensi, engsi, Hatchli, hatchlu,
An Ensi is a distinctive rug with
usually a four-panel field made by Turkmen. They are
often called "Door Rugs" but there is
very little evidence to prove that. It is
interesting to note that most old Ensis show
signs of having straps by which they could be
hung. See also Purdah
Hatchli, hatchlu is a corruption
of the Armenian word for cross which entered the
language from Armenian dealers.
