Sumac Carpet

East Caucasus, last quarter nineteenth Century, slightly oxidized browns,

Warp: Wool, Z4S ivory-gray combination, and 18 per inch.

Weft: Wool, Z2Sdark brown.

Pattern Weft: Wool, Z2S wrapped around two warps.

Sides: Outer 3 – 4 wefts are overcast by red pattern weft.

Ends: 2-inch macramé, warp fringe.

Size: 9 ft. 8 in. by 5 ft. 9 in. (2.95 by 1.75 m)

Colors: Rose red, sienna red, salmon, gold, pale gold, celery, dark blue, medium Blue, walnut, chocolate brown, apricot, light and dark mint, blue green, ivory.
