From: Nathan Koets Hi Barry, Hope this note finds you well. We are just entering our busy rug-washing season here in MI, and we're loving it. Just thought I'd mention a couple of other very large Persian carpets: on page 144 of Dr. Jon Thompson's book ORIENTAL CARPETS - From the Tents, Cottages and Workshops of Asia, there is a great photo of a rug measuring over 400 Sq. Meters. In addition, the author states that the largest Persian carpet ever sold was in 1986; it measured an astonishing 1,000+Sq. Meters! I often wonder where that rug is now (and of course, how they wash it). Warm Regards, For Further Reading: Thanks and best wishes, J. Barry O'Connell Jr. |
