Hello, I received an email with the five necessary steps for the conduct of scholarship from the eminent historian Prof. Dr. H. B. Paksoy. He published these a number of years ago in an article but it is just as valuable today. Although we are not professional historians it still seems as though this code of conduct is worth reviewing. I offer this as an item of interest please do not interpret this as condemnation of any person or groups of people, none is intended. Five necessary steps for the conduct of scholarship.Accordingly, a professional historian must:1. Be equipped with the languages of his proposed sources; 2. Have the facility to verify those primary sources by comparing them against each other; 3. Endeavor to place the sources into their full perspective by utilizing necessary disciplines, from Anthropology to Zoology; 4. Bring to light the events that are behind the sources and histories them; 5. Compare the published histories with the commentaries written on those histories, to gauge their effects on their intended audiences. Best wishes, For Further Reading: Thanks and best wishes, J.
