One of my favorite people in rug studies is Marla Mallett. Her fact based 'take no prisoners" approach to discussing rugs is always a delight. How such a true Southern lady can be so fierce at a mere hint of fantasy based mother goddessology is truely a marvel. I say all this as I lead up to mentioning that Marla is at it again. Be sure to visit Turkotek to read Marla as she tells the Turkotek crowd as we used to say back home, "where the bear went through the buckwheat". Not to say all the fun is from Marla alone, Marvin Amstey has something to say as well. Marvin is one of the more quiet ones over there. He only posts when he has something to say. Since Turkotek has lost so many of it's best respondents over a period of time it will be interesting to see if they can maintain the same standard that has made reading them so much fun. I look forward to Christoph Huber wadeing into the fray. Huber strikes me as person of rare ability. One area to watch; Steve Price said to Marla Mallet, "I share your irritation with public fantasizing, particularly when it has promotional motives." This is an amazeing statement from Dr. Price. Does perhaps he mean that "promotional fantsizing" when one is a dealer differs from "promotional fantsizing" as a non-dealer. It will be intersting to see if anyone calls the good Dr. on this one. I doubt it though. Best wishes, |
