 Hello, I am deeply offended by the handling of the Belgrade Embassy Bombing affair. By and large I avoid agency people and I certainly am not a fan of this new breed of bureaucrat spy nor do I now nor have I ever had any connection with them. With a few notable exceptions agency folks are a pain in the ... However an order was given to target the Red Chinese embassy. It is no secret what the Reds were doing and their very actions made the Embassy a military target. I happen to think that apologizing and paying for it was enough. It sent a great messege to the Red Chinese why screw it up. Unfortunately George Tenet has decided to wash his hands of the whole matter and pretend it was a mistake. Shame on you Mr. Ternet not since Pontius Pilate has anyone washed his hands in such a shameful way. To pick out a midlevel career man and order him thrown out. Mr. Tenet you just did not fire him you had him escorted to the gates publicly and you did not wait around to catch any of the heat. Was it really Anti-terrorism in Tashkent that called you away or did you just want to burn a flunky and get out of the way. Humiliating and destroying the career of a man who was serving his country in a CYA grandstand stinks. Best wishes, |
